Prof. Curtis J. Bonk
Instructional Systems Technology Dept., School of Education
Indiana University

Curt Bonk received his master's and Ph.D. degrees in educational psychology from the University of Wisconsin. Prior to that, he was a highly bored accountant and CPA. He is now Professor of Instructional Systems Technology in the School of Education at Indiana University and adjunct in the School of Informatics. Professor Bonk is also a Senior Research Fellow with the Advanced Distributed Learning Lab within the Department of Defense. He has received the CyberStar Award from the Indiana Information Technology Association, the Most Outstanding Achievement Award from the U.S. Distance Learning Association, and the Most Innovative Teaching in a Distance Education Program Award from the State of Indiana. Curt has given hundreds of talks around the globe related to online teaching and learning. In addition, he has nearly 200 publications on topics such as online learning pedagogy, massive multiplayer online gaming, wikibooks, blogging, open source software, collaborative technologies, and synchronous and asynchronous computer conferencing. His recent "Handbook of Blended Learning Environments: Global Perspectives, Local Designs," was published by Pfeiffer Publishing in 2006. And his 1998 book, "Electronic collaborators: Learner-centered technologies for literacy, apprenticeship, and discourse," was cited as a Breakthrough Book in Lingua Franca. Curt is President of CourseShare and SurveyShare.
