Dr. Ken Edgecombe

Queen's University
Dr. Ken Edgecombe holds a Masters and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry from Dalhousie University. His research interests range from drug design, protein structure, and solid-state calculations to the application of topology to chemical systems and the understanding of basic atomic and molecular structure. After teaching and research positions at Queen's University from 1988 to 1995, he joined IBM North America as the Program Manager of High Performance Computing (HPC) for the Scientific and Technical Systems and Solutions group. He later became involved in a project that evolved into the High Performance Computing Virtual Laboratory (HPCVL), of which he was appointed Executive Director in 2001.
