Tuesday, June 5th at 1 pm Session Chair, Youth and Science - Making the Connection  Lisa de Wilde CEO TVOntario Lisa de Wilde, Chief Executive Officer of TVOntario, has been a key player in the Canadian media industry for over twenty years. Prior to joining TVOntario, Lisa was President and CEO of Astral Television Networks. There she was instrumental in transforming the pay TV category into a highly successful branded television networks and in supporting the Canadian filmmaking community. Before taking the reins at Astral, she practised law first as legal counsel to the Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and then at Heenan Blaikie. She also served as Director General – Cable Television, Specialty and Pay Television Service at the CRTC. Alongside her senior management responsibilities at TVOntario, Lisa also serves on the Institute for Competitiveness and Prosperity Task Force, is a member of the McGill University Desautels Faculty of Management International Advisory Board, continues to serve on the Board of the Toronto International Film Festival Group, and is Vice-Chair of ATEC, the Association for Tele-Education in Canada. She is also Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Noranda Income Fund, a member of the board of the Consumers Waterheaters Income Fund, and a member of the board of directors of ORANO. Born in Winnipeg and a graduate of the McGill University Faculty of Law, Lisa continues to pursue her interests in film, public law and public policy. |
