About the MaRS Discovery District

MaRS is a convergence innovation centre dedicated to accelerating the commercialization of new ideas and new technologies by fostering the coming together of capital, science and business. Located in Toronto’s downtown “Discovery District,” MaRS sits at the epicentre of one of North America’s most concentrated clusters of biomedical research and expertise – literally steps from world-renowned teaching and research hospitals, the University of Toronto, Canada’s financial core and the Ontario legislature.

The MaRS Centre includes:

- research facilities for some of the area’s top scientists and incubation facilities for young companies;
- a cluster of professional services firms and investors, technology transfer offices, research and community networking organizations and mid-sized and established global companies;
- state-of-the-art conference and multimedia facility, as well as the programming required to animate the shared spaces and maximize the impact of cluster development.

The 2006 R&E Summit will be held in the MaRS Collaboration Centre Auditorium, South Tower.

To get to the auditorium, enter via the 101 College Street entrance. Turn right and proceed to the escalator. The Auditorium is located on the lower concourse immediately to the left.



Parking and Transportation

Underground parking is available at the MaRS Centre. The MaRS Centre underground lot can be accessed via Elizabeth Street, just south of College Street on the west side of the road. Substantial additional parking is available at a host of parking garages and above ground lots within a two-bock radius.

MaRS is easily accessible by major modes of transportation, with direct access to public transit. MaRS is located just steps east of the Queen's Park subway station at the corner of College and University Avenue with connecting service to Go Trains at Union Station.
