Dr. Robert Kent
Professor, High Performance and Grid Computing
School of Computer Science, University of Windsor
Dr. Robert Kent is a professor of computer science at the University of Windsor, joining in 1982. His research interests include grid computing, advanced architectures, networking, modeling and simulation and intelligent systems, among others. He is currently working on modeling intelligent virtual machines for autonomic control over grid workflow monitoring and scheduling, and also is the designer of the Unified Survey Management System, a grid enabled system for web based health surveillance, analysis and response involving a multidisciplinary team of colleagues, doctoral and masters level students. Dr. Kent was an early advocate and planner of national high performance computing and networking and was heavily involved with SHARCNET from its birth to today. He has been a pioneer using digital media, the web and advanced networking capabilities in both teaching and research. His personal passions include his family, outdoor activities and music.
