Richard Grunberg, Radio and Television Arts, Ryerson University
Richard Grunberg is Assistant Professor, Technical Producer, Director of Photography and Head of Video in the Radio and Television Arts program at Ryerson University. He is also an advisor and Facilities Coordinator of the Joint Graduate Program in Communication and Culture between York University and Ryerson.
He has been Technical Director and Director of Photography at TVOntario, working on such shows as Polka Dot Door and Polka Dot Shorts, Join In, and many other shows there and in the freelance market. He has given numerous lectures on advanced camera and lighting techniques, and still maintains a busy freelance shooting schedule. Rick had been lecturing at Ryerson University for the past 10 years on a part time basis, as full time faculty for last six, and was instrumental in the design and implementation of Canada’s first educational HD studio and single camera facility, and the digital signage system and student-run television network presently under construction.
In his presentation, Richard will speak about the implementation of a student television network and its integration into a digital signage system and IP based worldwide University network (OSTN), and Ryerson’s research into collaborative IP-based workflow and its digital cinema visualization lab.
