Sponsorships and Exhibit Space Opportunities

There are sponsorship and exhibit space opportunities available at the IPTV Workshop for Colleges and Universities on June 18 and 19. If you are interested in participating, please read the sponsorship and exhibitor package and contact Tamara Stoll at 416-507-9860 ext. 224 or tamara.stoll@orion.on.ca.

Institutions who are interested in showcasing student/faculty content at the workshop reception are invited to submit a short description by June 13 to tamara.stoll@orion.on.ca. There is no cost for postsecondary institutions to host an exhibit space.

Virtual Researcher On Call (VROC)
VROC is a project designed to link Canadian high school students in their classroom setting with top researchers and their trainees from the scientific community. VROC provides a unique and interactive learning opportunity for students in all aspects of the natural and health sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Wilfrid Laurier University
Dr. Shaowen Song, faculty member in Laurier’s Department of Physics and Computer Science, and his research team have developed a novel single-chip solution for high definition video communication over the Internet. This technology offers a low-cost high-quality solution for video-over-IP and IPTV applications. The prototype that has been completed and can also be used as a set-top box for IPTVs. A spin-off company, System-on-Chip Technologies, has been recently launched to market the product. The product can also be used for broad distant education formats other than IPTV channels, such as extended-classroom through HD video communications.
