July 5 Outage Notification:
Please note that the ORION network experienced an external connectivity outage between 10:15 pm and 11:40 pm last evening,
(Monday, July 5) as a result of a major power outage that affected much of the city and parts of the downtown area. The outage
affected the Toronto Front Street (TFS) facility, where most of Canada's ISPs and network providers are located, including ORION's
Optical Exchange. The cold water supply into TFS was disabled, which allowed overheating in the ORION PoP. Although most ORION
network and intra-member services were not affected, external connectivity to TORIX, Cogent and Google was down. ORION engineers were
able to restore full network operations at 11:40 pm.
