New director joins ORION


ORION welcomes a new face to its team in the role of Director, Interactive Marketing. Effective July 11, Sabrina Kandasamy will be responsible for the marketing and communications strategy at ORION.

Sabrina holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Toronto, majoring in finance and marketing. She has firsthand knowledge of the Ontario K-12 and colleges sector: not only is she a certified teacher, having graduated with a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto's OISE, she also teaches at George Brown College on a part-time basis. Currently, she is also working towards her Certified Management Accountancy designation.

Her background is a diverse one. Having built a career in marketing from both the client and agency perspectives, Sabrina has specialized in interactive from organizations ranging from not-for-profits to destination marketing. She hopes to bring to the ORION team greater awareness of the brand and a strong focus on the digital experience.

"I'm looking forward to joining the dynamic ORION team and truly understanding the ins and outs of the business," says Sabrina. "Some of my key priorities are: understanding our users and communicating the benefits of our network, meeting and understanding our partners, and taking the organization further into the digital space."

Sabrina will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive interactive marketing strategy, incorporating social media tools, and spearheading the development of a stronger ORION web presence.

"With plenty of experience in interactive marketing and business, we believe Sabrina has a great set of skills for this key leadership position. Because she is also an educator, Sabrina brings additional expertise as we engage with this important sector of our users," says Dr. Darin Graham, ORION President and CEO. "We are excited to have her join our team and help grow ORION’s outreach initiatives."
