SHARCNET helps verify discovery of world's largest known prime number
Seattle's Josh Findley, member of the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS) project, has discovered the world's largest known prime number. The record-breaking number was found in mid-May but an official verification, using SHARCNET systems, was completed on May 28.
