Terry Mosey joins ORANO
Terry Mosey, former Executive Vice-President at Bell Canada, has joined ORANO's Board of Directors.
Mosey recently retired from Bell, where he served as a senior executive for the past 15 years, handling virtually all aspects of Bell's business during his distinguished career with the company.
A strong advocate for research, education and community economic development, Mosey has also committed his considerable knowledge and skills to a number of not-for-profit organizations over the years. Currently, he is Vice-Chair of the Office for Partnerships for Advanced Skills (OPAS) - an affiliate of the Council of Ontario Universities. Mosey continues to serve on several private sector boards of directors, and is presently Chair of NorthwesTel and Bell Nordiq.
"I am very pleased to join the ORANO board," says Mosey. "Advanced networks for research and innovation are critical platforms for innovation in the 21st Century. ORION is essential new communications infrastructure for Ontario. It will help us maintain a leading position in global research, scientific discovery and learning. I look forward to working with the board and staff to help ORION achieve its full potential as a next-generation research and education network."
Dr. Stan Shapson, chair of the ORANO Board and VP Research and Innovation at York University, is pleased to welcome Mosey to the Board. "Terry's insight and experience in next-generation technology and applications will be a great asset to our Board as we move ahead on our strategic vision," said Shapson.
ORANO President/CEO Phil Baker looks forward to Mosey joining the Board. "He brings considerable private sector experience in the telecommunications industry and extensive knowledge about the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. He will be a terrific addition to our Board," he said.
Other ORANO board members include Maxim Jean-Louis, Board Vice-Chair and President of Contact North/Contact Nord; Brian Desbiens, Secretary-Treasurer , former President of Fleming College; Dr. Ross Paul, President, University of Windsor; Anne Sado, President, George Brown College; and Robert Kennedy, Apple Canada Educational Consultant.
