The Most Wonderful Time of the Year?

Darin GrahamWhile Staples calls it “the most wonderful time of the year,” there are plenty of students out there mourning the end of their summer vacation. While I understand their sadness, I can’t say that I share their same emotion. September is an incredibly exciting month for us at ORION!

This month signals new beginnings. As the leaves begin to change colour, our schools, colleges, and universities all over Ontario are filled with students – breathing new life into Ontario’s institutions after another summer season. In school yards, young minds play and learn together. Our colleges and universities welcome their fresh-faced frosh and welcome back familiar faces and colleagues. Before long these future innovators will be hard at work learning, researching, and expanding our horizons.

In Ontario, where you find research and innovation – you’ll find ORION. As Ontario’s Backbone of Innovation we are honoured to support our innovators of all ages and are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. After a wildly successful 2011-2012 school year where we supported big ideas and breakthroughs such as the discovery of the Higgs-boson particle, we are incredibly excited to kick-off a whole new year of discoveries.

The upcoming 2012-2013 school year gives us the opportunity to build on this momentum and to achieve even greater successes. As always, we look forward to working and collaborating with our diverse members to ensure Ontario is at the forefront of innovation again in 2013.

With that, I would like to personally wish you all the best for a successful 2012-2013 school year full of fun, excitement, and even bigger ideas!
