ORION is proud to host the first Certified Blockchain Professional (CBP) training and certification in Canada offered by a certified training body. CBP is a 360-degree, technology-agnostic certification developed in line with the ANSI standards for business professionals and technology developers. ORION will bring CBP training with the opportunity for unique certification to Toronto on May 12 – 14 as part of the Advance Ontario conference.
Blockchain is one of the most sought-after job skills in the market today with an increase in demand of around 500% in the last year alone. As organizations transform and economies continue to evolve data-driven, peer-to-peer ecosystems, there is increasing need for professionals to obtain relevant, implementable and practical digital skills.
Certified Blockchain Professional has been developed to help individuals and organizations acquire knowledge and experience that will support transformation and innovation through blockchain technology’s current and future potential. CBP will bring practitioners up to speed with the industry requirements and global standards in the blockchain industry. CBP will be presented in partnership with IIB Council and EC-Council, a leading cybersecurity credentialing body.
We’re committed to serving Ontario’s research and education needs for digital infrastructure that extends to the skills and training that are needed to take full advantage of the innovations in technology and create better ways of doing things. This workshop will help support our users as they transform themselves within an ever-evolving landscape.

About Certified Blockchain Professional
Blockchain is a distributed database that is replicated across multiple nodes to enable immutable, permanent, transparent, and secure record-keeping of transactions. Essentially, blockchain is a data storage and data transaction validation system. Blockchain technology is the only peer-to-peer decentralized network to authorize users to digitally sign transactions with 100% accuracy.
Blockchain is gaining popularity across industries such as finance, government, insurance, logistics, media, healthcare and many others for being a borderless network of value exchange in real time. Blockchain’s distributed ledger technology likewise shows limitless potential for transforming education, research, and innovation. Due to the speed of blockchain’s growth and reception, there is an increasing need for decision-makers and developers with certified blockchain credentials to support and sustain its innovative potential across all sectors.
Certified Blockchain Professional provides a thorough overview of blockchain technology and its implementation in education, research, and innovation. The course begins with the technical foundations of blockchain, such as distributed and decentralized systems, cryptography and mining. It then demonstrates the mechanisms behind cryptocurrencies and how to develop applications using Ethereum, a decentralized virtual machine.
