LARG*net facilitates the provision of a secure, managed, cost-effective, single-source networking solutions for broader connectivity outside of a member’s internal networks. This enables LARG*net members access, support and design assistance related to the Internet, and supports members’ use of the networks for the development of innovative new applications.
Connecting 35 member institutions, LARG*net promotes research and innovation and encourages the new uses and applications for high-speed computer networks that will benefit all of LARG*net’s communities. LARG*net works collaboratively with ORION to leverage connectivity and other shared services, and assist in extending the reach of these networks to London and the surrounding region, such as the Smart City infrastructure initiative with the City of London.
